Telecom Council Members open their lunch discussion on Secure Access Software Edge (SASE) to the public with an expert overview of the market, an interactive discussion, and demos from a few tech companies innovating in this space.
Telecom Council members representing network operators and their telecom vendor partners meet monthly in Silicon Valley to review new technologies and a handful of communications, IoT, and network-based innovation and startups coming out of the technology industry's entrepreneurial community across the globe.
SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) is the next big thing in enterprise networking. As companies large and small undergo digital transformation, they have expanded the flexibility of their IT assets. Enterprises have enabled SaaS, real-time apps, Work From Anywhere (WFA), many access devices & endpoints, Edge Computing, Cloud data, and SD-WAN. With these modern networking solutions, no longer hosted simply in the corporate datacenter, the ability to secure this “anything from anywhere” network has become a cat and mouse challenge, overlaid on the SD-WAN. The next step in the evolution is to just abandon the “secured firewall around a central dataserver” mentality, and build security into the SD-WAN fabric, and that’s SASE.
Our January Roundtable lunch will take a look at how SASE solutions are addressing the security needs of the network, and introduce a few companies with disruptive propositions for this market.
